Combat IT were extremely friendly and helpful. Their suggestion was to install a server and run slave machines to each member of staff’s desk to enable them to access the programmes. We would have to purchase some new machines and a more recent operating system such as Windows 7 or 8.
Our first impression with this suggestion was that it would be a very costly enterprise but we were pleasantly surprised with the quotation that we received. Extremely good value for money and at a fraction of what we would expect others to charge.
The transfer from our old system to the new system was less distracting than we imagined. When possible Combat IT undertook their work at night or over the weekend which caused us much less down time than it could have done.
We were informed at every stage what was being undertaken for us and they fitted in with our workload to install the server and each machine for each member of staff.
Having spent the money on installing a new system with daily backups it made sense to subscribe to having the computers monitored by Combat IT and to having the numerous Windows updates installed for us without us having to spend the vast amount of time attending to the updates on all our machines.
This task is performed for us out of office hours and the cost pays for itself in increased chargeable time for each member of staff as they are not attending to system updates. An added bonus of our system is the ability to access the machines when one is out of the office. We have taken advantage of this ability on many occasions and the peace of mind one has knowing that you can check a client’s affairs at any time or wherever you are is stress relieving.
Recently we opened an email that contained a virus which attacked our system. Combat IT were extremely quick to respond. Initially they accessed our system remotely and quickly ascertained that there was a virus and that it was a bad one. Within a short time they were physically in the office working out what could be done.
Thankfully they worked out of office hours that evening and we were back up and running at the beginning of the next day.
Not everyone would be able to give, let alone actually give, such service. We are very grateful to Combat IT for their help and for their monitoring of our system.
We know that we have nothing to worry about and that if we are silly enough to open a suspicious email we won’t get criticised. Combat IT will just get on with getting us back up and running as quickly as possible.
